Our Nest

I know you've seen parts of this room before but Kelly at *Kelly's Korner*
is having a link party for bonus rooms so I'm
linking up our TV Room.

TV Room.  Hummm.  I'm thinking I really date myself by calling it a "TV Room".  I think from now on I'm calling it a "Media Room".

Yeah, that's right.  I have a Media Room.  I'm cool.

Here's the story on the loveseat from an earlier post -- the loveseat was made from a antique bed belonging to my husband.  It was old and rickety and really wasn't sturdy enough to be used as a bed any longer. So, I took it apart, had the footboard cut in half (I thought I was going to throw up) and I put it all back together to make this cool loveseat.  Before, the kids were drawing straws to see who was going to have to take it when we're gone...Now, they're fighting over who gets it!

I painted this pair of florals and their frames.

Oh yes, that wild and crazy recliner is my office.

I built the book case to look like it was original
to the house.

Here's the TV, for which the room is named, tucked into one of my favorite antiques.

I love this lamp.  Here's a look at the before version...
...Now it loves me back.

This converted room is the smallest of the bedrooms and is right off the kitchen -- what could be better?  It just made sense to make this our "bonus" room.  It has made a perfect little spot for us two nest empty-ers!

  34. Yes, this is YOUR room -- whatever you want to call it. My mother has always said that every woman deserves such a room. Where you can basically sit in a chair and reach everything you need from one spot. Well, almost. I think we should call it your "receiving room", full of charm and grace and a true reflection of the various aspects of YOU!
