I like to tear up silk flowers. It's easy. It's liberating. It's legal. (Well, it is legal if you do it in private, completely sober, with all your clothes on.) And, it's inspiring.
This is the third time I've been inspired by tearing up silk flowers. You can check out the other two times *here* and *here*.
And here... I made a Fall pillow for my Mom. She loves Fall
with lots of Fall doo-dads.
Here are some how-to pictures:
And some of the pretty vignettes my Mother has created for Fall...

I love your mothers fall vignettes. The pillow is great. I wonder how well it would do with hot glue? I am sewing impaired lol~
ReplyDeleteI'm with Chrissie. I'm not actually sewing impaired - I'm 'retired'.
ReplyDeleteLove the vignettes. Hey, wait . . . I spied a mural in there. Does your mother paint too?
Dear Lindy: Now I see where your talent comes from - your Mom's house is gorgeous. Love her vignettes - she's got the golden touch. Your use of the silk leaves is so original - love what you've created with them - one-of-a-kind! Have a great day ~ Lisa@SuburbanRetreat

Such a pretty idea! Great job!
ReplyDeleteI know the feeling of cutting up fall florals/leaves - it IS so liberating! To think, for years, I left them as is in their pre-formed bunches! The possibilities are endless when you separate them as shown by the lovely pillow you made! The fall vignettes/displays of your mom's are terrific! Love the rooster one the best!
