I wanted to paint a mural on my dining room walls. I was a little nervous about this idea but,
hey, what was the worst thing that could happen? It's only paint.
hey, what was the worst thing that could happen? It's only paint.
That's what I kept telling myself (and my husband).
Well, hello, I could have to paint this whole room again! Or (and I think I might like this possibility a little better) I might just have to learn to live with it! That's what could happen!
But now that it's done, I like it fine. Thank goodness...
I painted both this painting and the bowl of cherries on the other wall.
I can't tell you how casually this was painted. I only used three colors of acrylic craft paint thinned with water.
I'm done. I'm leaving that wingback chair (that obviously needs a slip) for now and moving on...

Honey, I think you have a true winner there! Most people would pay fantastic money to get that look from a faux painter or wallpaper. It looks terrific.

Lindy, I really like it. It's very distinctive. You are so talented!! As someone with not much artistic talent, it is amazing!!
ReplyDeleteLindy - you are so uber-talented. Your mural is stunning and adds so much character to your dining area. And the two paintings you pointed out that YOU painted - unbelievable. Do you sell any of your art?

Lindy you are soo truly talented!! I wish you were my neighbor! Ha! Your dining room is just wonderful and I will be borrowing your french door treatment. I hope you do not mind!?;) I have been pondering for awhile now on what to do with ours and since I added the sheers in the living room I was thinking sheers for the french doors but was not thrilled with the typical hanging process. You hit it right on the spot! Thank you for such wonderful inspirations!
ReplyDeleteWell every body has told you already what a talented painter you are. so I am just going to say ditto.
ReplyDeleteI have no talent at all when it comes to painting, can't even paint a flat wall and make it look good.
Janice

ReplyDeleteYou painted this freehand? You ARE very brave. Looks great! I've been trying to get the courage to do something like this in my bathroom, but if I get brave enough to try, it will be with a stencil. Unlike you, I've not brave enough to do it on my own.
ReplyDeleteYour room looks so lovely. Great job.

I have to tell you, you have a rare combination of talent & an eye for quality design. I've worked with designers who can't paint. I've worked with artists who don't feel the subtleties of good design. You, my dear, have both.
ReplyDeleteI've visited you twice in 2 days, just by chance - or maybe not ;) Very happy to follow you.
